To ensure the academic quality of the journal, all manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Spatio-temporal Information are subject to the "three-review system" of preliminary review by subject editors, peer review, and final review by the editor-in-chief before publication.
1) Preliminary review by subject editors
The preliminary review of manuscripts is the first screening after the author submits the manuscript, which preliminarily confirms whether it conforms to the journal's purpose and scope of publication; whether the overall structure of the manuscript conforms to the writing format of scientific and technological papers, whether the content of the manuscript is innovative and cutting-edge in the subject, and whether it has high academic value. After passing the preliminary review, appropriate review experts will be selected and submitted for review in a timely manner. In this stage, the subject editor of this journal is responsible for the preliminary review, and manuscripts with poor quality or not align with journal's editorial objectives will be rejected.
2) Peer review
Peer review is the most critical link in the "three-review system". This journal adopts a double-blind review system of "opaqueness between authors and external reviewers". Experts conduct professional evaluations on the cutting-edge and novelty of the topics submitted by the authors, the innovation of the research, the correctness and level of academic theories, and the value that can be used as a reference for peers. The evaluation results will become an important basis for the journal to select papers. Double -blind minimizes the influence of factors such as the author's gender or the level of their research institution, allowing reviewers to set aside personal relationships and avoid non-academic factors from influencing their fair evaluation of the manuscript
3) Editor-in-Chief final review
In the "three-review system", the editor-in-chief or deputy editor-in-chief final review is the final review stage, which plays a decisive role in the publication quality and academic level of the journal. The final review is mainly responsible for the political direction, academic quality and editing and publishing quality of the journal, so the manuscript must be strictly reviewed.
